The Annual Worcester County St. Patrick's Day Parade
will be held on Sunday, March 9th, 2008
Once again we will be marching with Lt. Gov Tim Murray
All Dancers are invited to participate in this fun event!
All Oireachtas dancers must participate.
Attire for the Parade:
Costumes: We are not wearing any dance dresses this year.
The unpredictable weather has forced last minute changes too many times so......No dresses.
Oireachtas dancers should wear black warm-ups and SCHOOL HEADBANDS. (not solo)
Dancers who wear Skorts at the feis should wear them for the parade, too.
If you have "another vintage" McInerney Warm Up...like one of the purple ones, you can wear that.
Lastly, Any school logo clothes with black pants or leggings.
Top off your Skort or Black Pants with a school sweatshirt , Irish Aran Sweater or big, solid color sweater.
Girls should wear BLACK leggings and/or heavy BLACK tights underneath ~~as needed for the weather. Wear poodle socks over your tights.
Boys: Solid color black or Navy pants--NO JEANS! wear with school logo top or Aran Sweater.
For the Feet... No Dancing Shoes! Please wear solid white "cheerleading type" sneakers with poodle socks. (and tights) (Poodle socks are available in the same locations as the shoes.)
For the Hair: Girls in Curls! ~~with the headband and scrunchie to match the uniform.
All girls must have wigs or curls. Check out the Curl Page for more info on hair.
Parents: Please feel welcome to walk behind the dancing delegation to be there for your child if they are not up to completing the walk. We keep the youngest children near the front so they can all stay together. We ask that no one walk beside the group because it blocks the view of the spectators! Some families bring strollers for their very little ones and brightly decorated wagons. It is always a lot of fun!
***All children must be picked up at the intersection of Park Ave. and Highland St.
when our unit completes the parade. Not when the parade is over! ***
